Things you DON'T need at a Tea Party Event that you DO need at an Occupy Event

For the last few days I've been able to follow quite a bit of happenings around the Occupy movement through Twitter and Google. I personally agree with the original message of addressing corporate greed. But I've actually gotten put off with the movement and it's inability to police itself. People defecating on police vehicles and organizers covering up rapes is not a movement to be proud of, in my opinion. I've seen several articles comparing the Occupy Movement with the Tea Party Movement and how they differ. Most deal with demands or philosophy. But several other Occupy articles dealt with advice on how to Occupy. I noticed that almost none of the Occupy advice would ever apply to a Tea Party event and honestly found it hilarious. So I sat out here to document those differences through the below list.

Things you DON'T need at a Tea Party event that you DO need at an Occupy event:

  • A Bandana to conceal your identity
  • A 2nd Bandana soaked in Lemon Juice to offset Tear Gas
  • Condoms and/or a Rape Kit (example)
  • Tips on how to act when you get arrested
  • A drum
  • A Helmet
  • Nipples (example)
  • Spray Paint, Hammers, Sticks and Matches to vandalize and set stuff on fire. (example)
  • A bong or a crack pipe
  • A Lawyer
  • A Gas Mask
  • Camping equipment
  • A tolerance for the "F" word
  • Bullet Proof Vests
  • Project planning skills
  • An ability and willingness to shout back anything a speaker might say whether it's right or not
  • Admiration for Van Jones
  • The ability to state that all politicians are crooks but to only provide blatant examples of conservative politicians
  • An Idiot - (example)
  • A belief that you are self-entitled
  • Anti-lice medications
  • A TB Shot

About Me

I'm a middle aged guy who finds much pleasure in today's technology. When I find a gem, or figure something out, I put it here in this site. When time allows, I enjoy camping with my wife. I love the outdoors and live in an area where I get to experience all 4 seasons in all their glory. I always keep a camera handy, so expect to see those adventures documented here as well. You can follow me on Google+Twitter and Facebook
