For the last few days I've been able to follow quite a bit of happenings around the Occupy movement through Twitter and Google. I personally agree with the original message of addressing corporate greed. But I've actually gotten put off with the movement and it's inability to police itself. People defecating on police vehicles and organizers covering up rapes is not a movement to be proud of, in my opinion. I've seen several articles comparing the Occupy Movement with the Tea Party Movement and how they differ. Most deal with demands or philosophy. But several other Occupy articles dealt with advice on how to Occupy. I noticed that almost none of the Occupy advice would ever apply to a Tea Party event and honestly found it hilarious. So I sat out here to document those differences through the below list.
Things you DON'T need at a Tea Party event that you DO need at an Occupy event:
It's been a long time since I've blogged about any Idiots here on this site. But today, while Hurricane Irene is rolling through Virginia Beach, I spotted about a dozen of them. The Weather Channel guy is included in this group of Idiots!

I'm always amazed at the power that something like Twitter has. If you want to know what people are thinking in the moment, there is nothing out there that compares. Yesterday was another example of that. Right now, our nation's politicians are trying to figure out how best to handle America's debt crisis. I'm not going to get into the specifics, but there are two basic issues at play; Raising the limit, because we are about to be there, and also a need to get the spending under control. Needless to say, true to recent American Politics at play, no one can agree on how to do this . . . Talking heads on both sides have taken the time to go before cameras to bad mouth the other side.
Nowadays, almost everyone in DC has a Twitter account. They use Twitter to share stuff with their followers. Our own President has such an account and used it yesterday. . . . He tweeted that now was the time for compromise. But then he proceeded to urge his more than 9 million followers to call upon ONLY their Republican representatives to compromise . . . . . I'm sorry, but I find this insulting. What about the Democrats and Independents? Are they exempt from needing to Compromise?
Me? I'm just thanking God for Netflix, and a show called "The Office"

I'm a middle aged guy who finds much pleasure in today's technology. Once upon a time, I kept a blog about mobile tech, along with a site documenting my bike rides, and still another site that included family happenings and photos. After a while I decided it made much more sense to combine all those things and create what has become "Just Duke". Just things that I am interested in. Daily I follow the news and trends around mobile technology. I also document my Kayak and Scooter adventures here. By day I work for a large Chemical company, and by night I play bass in a Christian Rock band called Exit 33. I also play bass in my Churches Praise band. When time allows, I enjoy camping with my wife. I love the outdoors and live in an area where I get to experience all 4 seasons in all their glory. I always keep a camera handy, so expect to see those adventures documented here as well. You can follow me on Twitter and Facebook.
